Shredder Chamber & Cutting Box

The shredder chamber is the core working unit of every double-shaft shredder. Fabricated from thick welded steel plate, it houses the cutter shafts, spacers and fixed counter knives. Removable side panels simplify cutter replacement and internal cleaning. Chamber geometry, cutter thickness and clearances directly define the final particle size and output consistency.

Drive Motor

Shredder drive motors must withstand shock loads, frequent forward-reverse rotation and sustained operation under material jams. We specify cast-iron housing, heat-resistant windings and overload protection. Standard high-efficiency and VFD-compatible variable-frequency models are available to match the control system and power supply.

Hard-Tooth Reducer / Gearbox

Carburized and quenched hard-tooth reducers deliver the low-speed, high-torque shear required for shredding. The gearbox absorbs instantaneous torque shocks from contaminated material and supports reliable forward-reverse cycling. Available in K-series and ZQ-series housings sized to the motor and cutting load.

Key Features

Wider Feed Chamber

A 300 × 350 mm chamber provides greater listed width than the 150 model.

Selectable Motor Configuration

Available with a listed 3 kW motor or optional 5.5 kW configuration.

Recycling Pretreatment Applications

Intended for size reduction before subsequent material processing.

Project-Specific Configuration

Customizable voltage and cutter thickness support agreed installation and processing requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q Why choose the 300 model if the 150 uses the same listed motor power?
A
The 300 has a larger listed chamber, which may accommodate different feed geometry. That does not establish a proportional throughput increase. Compare material engagement, drive specifications and trial results for your actual waste stream.
Q Can the 300 model produce finished plastic granules?
A
It should be evaluated primarily for shredding and pretreatment. Where downstream processing requires controlled regrind dimensions, a granulator and screen may be needed. Define the required output before deciding whether one processing stage is sufficient.
Q Why might the shredder reverse frequently during operation?
A
Frequent reversal warrants investigation of feed loading, difficult material sections, cutter condition and discharge restrictions. It does not by itself identify the fault. Record the material, feed method and controller events for technical diagnosis.
Q Which output requirements should I specify before ordering?
A
State acceptable particle dimensions, oversize limits and the downstream equipment requirements. "Small pieces" is too vague for acceptance. Agree on a sampling method and retain trial output as a reference for the final configuration.
